Job Description: Associate Director

FUNCTION:

1. To assist the Executive Director in implementing the strategic goals and objectives of the organization

2. To assist the Executive Director in giving direction and leadership toward the achievement of the organization’s philosophy, mission, and its annual goals and objectives.

3. To maintain relationships with governing officials, and funders in Kane, Kendall, and McHenry counties, the inclusive 42 townships and cities and the State of Illinois.

REPORTS TO: The Executive Director and/or the Assistant Executive Director

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Program and Service Delivery: Oversees the design, marketing, promotion, delivery and quality of programs and services as assigned by the Executive Director while consistently presenting a strong, positive image to relevant stakeholders and staff you supervise.

2. Oversees expenditures in those programs they oversee.

3. Human Resource Management: Advertises, interviews, and hires new staff. Manages and supervises existing staff and administrators under their direction according to authorized personnel policies and procedures that fully conform to current laws and regulations.

4. Staff supervision will include meeting regularly with staff that you are responsible for. This includes completing Annual Reviews as well as monitoring attendance, schedules, productivity and verbal or written notification of progressive disciplinary issues or actions.

5. Annual Reviews need to include mutually agreed upon goals and timelines.

6. Community and Public Relations: Assures the organization and its mission, programs, products and services are consistently presented in strong, positive images to relevant stakeholders. Maintains relationships with local and state government officials as well as funding sources. Assist with Community presentations as needed.

7. Fundraising: Oversees fundraising planning and implementation in your respective offices, including identifying resource requirements, researching funding sources, establishing strategies to approach funders, writing and submitting proposals and monitoring levels of success. Assist with grant writing as needed including writing and submitting follow up reports and data.

8. Evaluates and measures the success of programs under your management with program supervisors and provides this data in quarterly reports as requested to various funders.

9. Planning: Assists the Executive Director in providing leadership and expertise in establishing vision and direction for the agency, setting priorities and assuring implementation.

10. Associate Directors shall prepare agendas, minutes and reports for Advisory Council meetings and staff meetings and disseminate them in a timely manner. You will be responsible to facilitate these meetings in your respective offices on a monthly basis.
