Job Description: The Facility Manager and Risk Management Specialist will oversee the maintenance, physical operations, safety protocols, property insurance and IT needs of our five facilities. Will identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks to ensure a safe and functional environment for all occupants, create capital improvement plans, and replacement schedules for each facility.

Responsibilities

  • Facility Management:
    • Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the facilities, including maintenance, repairs, renovations, utilities and IT needs.
    • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to ensure the optimal functioning of all systems and equipment.
    • Manage vendors and contractors to ensure quality service delivery within budgetary constraints.
    • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, expenses, utilities and computer hardware/software.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
    • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards and vulnerabilities within the facility.
    • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks related to safety, security, and environmental factors.
    • Establish emergency response protocols and coordinate drills to ensure preparedness for various scenarios.
    • Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to safety and risk management.
    • Work with Chief Operating Officer and insurance agents to ensure liability insurance coverage and reporting.
  • Safety and Security:
    • Implement safety policies and procedures to promote a culture of safety among staff and visitors, including workers compensation insurance training.
    • Oversee the installation and maintenance of security systems, including CCTV cameras, access control, alarm systems, and electronic data safety.
    • Coordinate with relevant authorities and emergency responders to address security threats or incidents effectively.
  • Budget Management:
    • Prepare and manage the facility’s budget, ensuring cost-effective utilization of resources.
    • Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements without compromising safety or quality.
    • Monitor expenses and financial performance, providing regular reports and recommendations to senior management.

Qualifications

  • Associates’ degree in Facility Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in facility management, with a focus on risk assessment and mitigation strategies, liability insurance and IT management.
  • Knowledge of building permits, regulations, and industry best practices related to facility management and safety.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

 

Pay: Salary starts at $50,000/year, depending on experience and qualifications
